“Boy, it feels just like that.” “ONLY 90 in 90?” “I want to talk to someone but everyone I see is on Zoom.” “My cell phone has become just another Zoom portal” … blah, blah blah, blah ...
Alright, that’s enough of that.
WELCOME TO THE SAN FERNANDO VALLEY AA UNCONVENTIONAL
AL-ANON PLANNING MEETING
Ahhh, much better. Believe it or not, I just got out of the AA Planning meeting and things are starting to move. We have a theme and colors. The theme is “Not My Plan” (absolutely appropriate) and the colors are basic Big Book blue and yellow. Todd, the AA Chair, and his committee will be looking at (1) a convention schedule, (2) assignments for the Unconventional, and (3) a new logo.
We have 193 days until the Unconventional. That may seem like a long time, but we are handicapped by a pandemic that saps our energy and willingness. But we are strong and I’m confident that we can make this the best weirdest convention that we’ll ever have.
Besides the main speaker meeting(s), we plan to have marathons and a Family Workshop and an Al-Anon Workshop. We’ll also work to have meeting space for the Spanish Committee and Alateens. And I’ll be talking to YHA about a place for them. First, though, I need Carry the Message people. We are no longer bound by geographic limits. We can go anywhere in the world. Help us reach out to far lands. I think of the globe now as the Greater San Fernando Valley.
Sign up on our website, sfvalanon.org or fill out the form for SFVAAU Sign-up. Spread the word at your meetings. I put the following in the Chat (per your Secretary, of course):
